You probably are well of aware of how it feels to come home from a wonderful vacation and have reality intrude as soon as you get home. Don and I came in after a wonderful long weekend in the mountains, I was bursting to get to the computer and start telling you about all the things we had seen and the new places we had discovered.
Then we checked our emails. Reality, large and dark and final. One of our Corvette brethren had departed for the big highway in the sky this weekend. The funeral was yesterday. We didn't know.
We will always have memories of Don Smith and his 40th anniversary Ruby Red convertible. At autocrosses mainly, as that was his passion. Nationally ranked in the National Council of Corvette Clubs, Don Smith will be missed by many people.
Happy trails, Don Smith!
