At the risk of my better half labeling me "high maintenance", I need to vent a little bit this morning. Last weekend, we had to miss the first "official" 2009 event of the Carolina Vettepack due to myself succumbing to one of the many viral deals going around right now. The weather has been COLD, not conducive to wanting to get out in the yard and accomplish anything, not wanting to get out and go anywhere. The husband has been busy, however, firing up the heater in the garage to a decently toasty level. He and our son spent last weekend putting fresh brakes on the 2002 Electron Blue Corvette. Painted the new caliphers "In Your Face Red". Our progeny also detailed the wheels and washed the car because he wanted to drive it to work yesterday. Fair enough.
But here we are, another week into the new year. This weekend is a little warmer but overcast with rain moving into the area. Behind it is more cold weather. I have been in my chair this a.m. with the new Southern Living magazine. So many cool places to go and see, new recipes to try. I am impatient to feel better and be able to go out in the world, in a Vette, traveling, somewhere, anywhere.
One article in the SL magazine is for a place called Wing Haven Gardens, http://www.winghavengardens.com/ I have been studying the pictures longingly.
This is the kind of outing I absolutely adore. Combining two loves, Corvette road trips and touring pretty gardens for inspiration and relaxation. This is going to be a "must" for this spring for the better half and me. I have already told him, it is not an option. Weekend road trip to Charlotte, NC, no discussion except to pick a weekend.
Hence, the "high maintenance" label. Oh well, it is what it is.
