Return to the Green

What a difference a week makes!!!! Last weekend, we had cold rain on Sunday which turned to snow...about 6-7 inches at our house. If you are familiar with upstate South Carolina, 'nuff said!!

But this past weekend, glorious sunshine, warm temperatures, perfect weather to visit downtown Greenville, South Carolina! The better half and I spent the day Saturday cleaning up after the snow and spiffing up the yard, well, the front yard anyway. We did make a dent on the back yard before we gave out entirely but that is a story for another day.

I decided one day was enough for chores. So I gathered one of my progeny and we made our way downtown for the Return to the Green festival in Falls Park. http://www.fallspark.com/index_content.html We didn't know what to expect but the weather was perfect for an outing so off we went.
Wow! We loved the band that was playing when we got there. I wish I could remember their name because they were excellent and we very much enjoyed the Irish music they were playing. Then we were treated to the marching in of the Greenville Pipes and Drums Corps. They played several numbers that were a treat to listen to. Irish dancing on the stage followed by a troup of dancers in colorful costumes.
Next year, we will go early, take our chairs and some noshies and plan to enjoy!!
