BIRDS, BIRDS...A FEEDER SUCCESS STORY

It has been awhile since I have posted but in my defense, this a busy time of year! Whether you want to talk about what is going on in the upstate of South Carolina, or the latest Corvette happenings or what is going on in our little kingdom of the Back Yard.

My little $20 bird feeder from Wal-Mart is doing very well. I have accumulated quite a "flock" of regulars! There is the lovely Cardinal pair who built a nest in the Evergreen Clematis growing on the side porch. Several doves visit regularly to feed on what the little birds spill on the ground. A veritable family of red headed finches (I haven't learned the proper names yet) who really are a "family". I had heard in the last few days, very animated discussions everytime these precious little flitters came to the feeder. But today, I noticed that a grouping of three little birds were sitting on the new tomato cage nearby while the "Momma" bird put something into each on of their mouths! One can imagine that the whole group is an extended family of aunties & uncles, parents and children. I have very much enjoyed what for me is a novel experience, this being my first bird feeder. I really must research bird identification so I can properly name the little flitterbys.

Anyway, we have about wrangled the yard into shape. I am ready to get the Vettes out and hit the road. It has been too long!! Better half, are you listening?
