WELL ON MY WAY TO DEVELOPING MY OWN RECIPE FOR HIGH FIBER GRANOLA BARS. THE FIRST THING THAT HAS BEEN DETERMINED IS THAT THEY WILL NOT BE "BARS" AND WILL BE BAKED IN MUFFIN TINS. THE NEW NOMENCLATURE THAT I AM CURRENTLY CONSIDERING IS "CHUNKOLAS" AND "GRANUFFINS". PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET ME KNOW OF BETTER OPTIONS!
THE FIRST COMPLICATION DISCOVERED IS THAT PAPER MUFFIN CUPS STICK TO THE PRODUCT!! NOT COOL, UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND A LITTLE EXTRA FIBER IN THE FORM OF PAPER BITS WHILE YOU ARE TRYING TO NIBBLE THE GRANOLA OFF THE CUPCAKE LINER!! I DID PURCHASE SOME FOIL LINERS TO TRY. OTHER OPTIONS IN THE LINE-UP INCLUDE THE WILTON NON-STICK MUFFIN PANS ($7.97 AT WALMART)AND SILICONE CUPCAKE LINERS (PROBABLY HIGH DOLLAR AND DON'T KNOW HOW HARD THEY WOULD BE TO CLEAN.
I HAVE DETERMINED THAT IN THE FORM OF MUFFINS, THE CHUNKOLAS WILL BE VERY EASY TO TRAVEL WITH IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER. SINCE I AM COMING DOWN WITH ROAD TRIP FEVER, GETTING THIS RECIPE DOWN IS A PRIORITY!
ALSO, THEY WILL LOOK VERY NICE IN THE GLASS STORAGE CONTAINERS I AM IN THE PROCESS OF OUTFITTING MY NEW GLASS FRONT PANTRY CABINET WITH (THAT HUBBY RECENTLY FINISHED FOR ME).
