Sometimes you just need a truck..... When you get up on a fine spring Saturday morning and the mood strikes, you go out and purchase....PLANTS! The garden-myster and I toyed with the idea of riding up to the NC Asheville Farmers market, then riding down to the Park Seed store in Anderson, SC. But in the end, we decided we could get in plenty enough trouble right here in Greenville, SC. After a stop for doughnuts and bagels, we headed out to the Farmers market on Rutherford Rd. in Greenville. Brilliant minds think alike because we ran into some fellow Carolina Vettepack -ers who were also shopping for garden organics! We loaded up on flowers and herbs then hopped back in Big Red, our trusty Chevy Silverado, and headed out to South Pleasant burg nursery. When we got there we ran into some members of the South Carolina Koi and Water Garden Society who were shopping for plants. One couple was there in their Corvette, but HiYoSilvr can't hold as much as Big Red! After making our puchases, we still a little room left in the truck, so we headed out towards Mauldin, SC, to stop at Martin's nursery on Mauldin Rd. Then feeling a bit peckish, we stopped at the Lazy Chicken on E. Butler Rd. This was our first experience at this restaurant but I think we will definitely go back! The roasted chicken was delicious and I want to try the wings next time.
Finally we headed home and unloaded all our purchases. It was time to pay the piper and start digging holes and putting the plants in the ground. After supper, I was sitting and listening to the waterfall in the pond, thinking what a great day we had!!
