So far, so good.
We ventured out into the mall on Friday where I got some incredible deals at my favorite store, Coldwater Creek, (check it out at www.coldwatercreek.com ). They were having a huge sale! It helped a lot that I saw a 20% off coupon come in on an email that a.m. I had been keeping an eye on a particular red shirt and a winter white reversible vest and I am happy to say they are now part of my wardrobe. I have not put them in the closet yet because I try to live by the BBC show, Life Laundry, rule-If you buy something, you have to get rid of something. An eye for an eye, so to speak.
Yesterday, the spouse and I bit the bullet and took down all the decorations, hauled them into the attic, dusted, vacumned, and put the house back together. Afterwards, we took much needed showers and decided to go for a Mexican nosh. Before bedtime, I re-built my email addresss book and started a new Publisher template for the the Carolina Vettepack newsletter. I hope to get a new one out by Jan. 1, 2009!
Today, I am re-installing my digital camera software and will download all the pictures from my camera since Dec. 25, 2007. They will have to be re-named and sorted into folders. Basically, I am having to re-build my entire virtual life. By the way, all the ads from the newspaper today for external harddrives have been pulled. I wish I had had the sense to get one a long time ago!
The spouse is having battery issues with the red '96-we were going to drive it to the restaurant last night but the engine was slow turning over. I told him it is jealous that the blue '02 got a new one last Friday. We just had some transmission work done on the '02 and are looking into new brakes for it also. Hopefully we can get all the Vette issues addressed soon because a new year's worth of good times is hopefully just around the corner!
The CVP has an informal get together planned for Jan. 3, 2009. I hope we can toss around some good ideas for the new year.
New Year's Eve? Lasagna, I think, with all the trimmings. A quiet evening at home. I already have my collards and black eyed peas ready for New Year's Day. Remember, only do the things on New Year's Day that you want to spend the rest of the year doing!!
