CORVETTE - CAROLINA VETTEPACK MAY 2008

Hello all!
I have been lax about posting. This time of year there just doesn't seem to have enough hours in the day for everything I want to do!
The Carolina Vettepack has a busy month ahead of us. We have been busy with planning meetings and recently took in the first weather friendly cruise in of the year at Kevin Whittaker's Chevrolet in Greenville, SC. It was still kind of chilly but I think we are finally done with the cold weather in the upstate of South
Carolina. I hope so because the urge to be out with the tops off/down on the cars is very compelling right now.
The CVP is planning a day trip to Lake Lure, North Carolina in May. We plan on taking a boat cruise of the lake that takes about an hour. Then lunch at one of the local eateries that are nearby and hopefully some shopping! It never ceases to amaze me what will fit in the back of a C5
coupe! My husband decided to buy a new urn for the fountain outside my kitchen window. The dimensions are at least 36 inches tall and
a good 24 inches in diameter. Fit in the Vette just fine and brought it home from the store. I have started a list of stuff I want to keep an eye out for on our travels this summer.
A Corvette club from North Carolina is putting on their third annual Carolina Vettefest on Saturday, May 17,2008. This is an all day, all Corvette cruise in and fun run that will start in Charlotte, North Carolina and travel through the countryside. The CVP is planning to go up early for photo ops before lunch. I think a supper stop on the way home will be a very good thing! Now that I am comfortable with my new tiny camera, I hope to get some good memories on record! Memorial Day weekend will find us at Vettes in the Valley. Last year the weather was just perfect for spending the day in the beautiful Maggie's Valley, tucked into the mountains of western North Carolina. We are looking forward to spending the weekend there this year. There are a lot of activities associated with this event. Check out their website www.vettesinthevalley.com for more information.
The CVP recently went on a mystery dinner cruise to a place called the Plaid Pelican. Those of you that love the seafood of coastal South Carolina will want to check this place out! Great food and a lot of fun, be sure to check out their website at www.theplaidpelican.com and I am sure you will want to get over there at the first opportunity!! We had a great meal and then cruised to one of our group's house for dessert goodies and after dinner conversations.
